According to a private and anonymous X account with an impressive track record of accurate predictions (via 9to5Mac ), three iPhones that launched in 2018 and have had active software support until now will not be able to run iOS 19: the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max.

We’re just over two months away from Apple announcing iOS 19 at WWDC25. A new rumor this week says that iOS 19 will drop support for three iPhone models: iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max. All three of those phones were released in September 2018.

A new rumor suggests Apple will cut support for three iPhone models in iOS 19, which contradicts a previous rumor.

Unlike Android, where OEMs state how long they will support their devices, Apple doesn’t mention any of that for iOS support. However, iPhone users never had to worry as Apple usually offered at least five years of support.
