Baseball fans rejoice! The Washington Nationals return to the field Thursday for opening day as they host the Philadelphia Phillies to open its 2025 season.

Baseball is back in the nation’s capital, and fans are getting ready to see the Washington Nationals game against the Philadelphia Phillies. The two teams will face off, kicking off the 2025 season. Gates to the stadium will open at 2 p.

WASHINGTON — Thursday is the Washington Nationals' opening day. And with every home game comes parking restrictions and traffic closures. The following streets will be closed three hours prior to the start of every home game and will reopen approximately an hour and a half after each game:

Fans looking to meet players afterward can drive down to The Wharf to enjoy the Fan Fest and Verizon Red Carpet at the Nationals Homecoming Gala. This event is free to the public and is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. on Transit Pier. Opening day is scheduled for March 27 at 4:05 p.m.
