Other states that require front plates include California, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. The bill will also require repair shops to request a written crash report from customers. Florida could become the 30 th state in the US to require vehicles to use a front license plate after the introduction of Bill SB 92.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- New York City will soon start enforcing a new series of rules targeting drivers with obscured license plates. Beginning on April 16, license plates on all cars in the five boroughs must be properly displayed, without any glass or plastic covers on top of them.

Idaho drivers will soon have two new license plate designs available to show off their potato pride.  On Wednesday, Idaho Gov. Brad Little signed House Bill 204 into law, which will create two new retro-style license plate designs honoring Idaho potatoes starting July 1.

Another new license plate is on its way for Oregon drivers. The latest is a Dungeness crab plate by the Oregon Dungeness Crab Commission. Proceeds will support programs that sustain the state’s Dungeness crab fishery.
