A 41-year-old Martha's Vineyard woman is now being charged with manslaughter after police say a child she was caring for became unresponsive and later died when she left him unattended in her car on the island.

A 41-year-old woman from Massachusetts was charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of a 2-year-old she was babysitting.

The Cape and Islands district attorney’s office said the child died Wednesday at Mass General Hospital, days after allegedly being left in a vehicle for hours.
