Management at Beyond, Inc., the parent company of Bed Bath & Beyond and Overstock, is doubling down on brick-and-mortar retail despite the challenges facing the sector. This week, the company announced a $40 million preferred equity investment in The Container Store, which includes a licensing agreement.

Shoppers will be able to find Bed Bath & Beyond-branded products in stores again, at The Container Store locations.

Investment is part of a strategic partnership between the specialty retail chain and the owner of Bed Bath & Beyond designed to return the Container Store to profitable comparable store growth.

Beyond and The Container Store's new strategic partnership will leverage the latter’s brick-and-mortar footprint with Beyond’s data platform.

Beyond Inc., which bought the defunct retailer out of bankruptcy, is investing $40 million in The Container Store. As part of the investment, Bed Bath & Beyond-branded kitchen, bath and bedroom products will soon be sold at 102 Container Store locations.
