Ontario, the most populous province in Canada and the lion of the country’s financial and manufacturing sectors, tore up a $68 million contract with Elon Musk’s Starlink and banned U.S. companies from bidding on tens of billions worth of government contracts.

Ontario’s premier said he’s “ripping up” the contract between his province and Elon Musk’s Starlink internet service, following President Trump’s decision to target Canada with 25 percent tariffs,

The Starlink contract, signed in November and to be finished in June, was supposed to provide high-speed internet access through the company’s satellite service to 15,000 homes and businesses in some of Canada’s most northern communities.
