Country Aircheck first reported the news on Monument’s closure. The label was originally founded in 1958 by and served as the home of Roy Orbison for some of his best-known songs, like “In Dreams” and “Oh, Pretty Woman.” Monument had also signed artists including Kris Kristofferson and Dolly Parton.

Singer Walker Hayes is seemingly a man without a home, as his record label is shutting down. Sony Music is in the process of shutting down Monument Records. Country Aircheck reported the news on Wednesday (April 2), adding that the future of most of the other artists on the label is also in question.

Nashville's Monument Records was folded Wednesday by label partner Sony Music Nashville. Future of several artists remains unclear.
