RadioShack opened its first custom concept store in Manhattan on Feb. 1, leveraging mobile technology to enhance the in-store experience with the hopes of spurring better sales for the company.
RadioShack, the iconic American chain of consumer electronics stores, went bankrupt in 2017. But it was acquried by El Salvador’s Unicomer Group in May 2023 and it’s back at CES 2025.
The 21st century has not been kind to RadioShack. The once-dominant electronics component retailer simply couldn’t compete with big box stores like Best Buy and online retail juggernaut Amazon.
