Pokémon Center stores are fighting back against resellers by removing the plastic packaging on Pokémon TCG sets, thus making it impossible to re-sell.

Another Pokémon Center store has begun removing the plastic wrapping from sealed Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) products in an effort to combat scalping.

As we approach the release of Pokémon TCG’s next set, Journey Together, the card game is in a really weird place. The sealed cards, bought either for playing the table-top game or for collecting, are broadly unavailable thanks to an ever-worsening feverish demand that is seeing scalpers buying everything to resell.

Scalping has been a huge problem for the Pokémon Trading Card Game for a while now, to the point where Pokémon Centers are responding in kind.
