Blizzard announced on March 24 its intentions to revive hardcore World of Warcraft Classic characters lost in a recent distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack, a malicious flooding of the game’s servers with request data by outside entities that caused widespread lag and, in some cases, even disconnections.

In a message from World of Warcraft community manager Kaivax, Blizzard confirmed that it will resurrecting characters that died during one of the many DDoS attacks. While not every character may be saved, the studio is hoping to revive everyone who died as a result of the hackers.
