Daylight Saving Time: Here’s when it arrives in New York
In 2025, Daylight Saving Time will start in New York City on Sunday, March 9. The clocks will “spring forward,” as the saying goes, at 2 a.m., and we’ll lose an hour of sleep. From that point, our days will continue to get longer until the summer solstice — the longest day of the year — on Friday, June 20, at 1:41 p.m.

Daylight Saving Time, also colloquially referred to as “ daylight savings time ,” begins on the second Sunday in March and ends the first Sunday of November. We always “spring forward” when DST begins and “fall back” when it ends.
