The UK Government has announced plans to create a new national forest stretching from the Cotswolds to the Mendips, with 20 million trees set to be planted by 2050. The Western Forest will cover at least 2,500 hectares and will be accessible to urban areas including Bristol, Gloucester and Swindon.
