MELVILLE, N.Y. (AP) — MELVILLE, N.Y. (AP) — MSC Industrial Direct Co. (MSM) on Thursday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $39.3 million. On a per-share basis, the Melville, New York-based company said it had profit of 70 cents. Earnings, adjusted for restructuring costs, came to 72 cents per share.

MSC Industrial (MSM) came out with quarterly earnings of $0.72 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.68 per share. This compares to earnings of $1.18 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.
