The original Switch was pitched partly on the idea of bringing people together to play, with locally played games like 1-2-Switch and Snipperclips. But Nintendo clearly has bigger multiplayer ambitions, as some of its recent game output shows.

Set in the quarantined city of Harran, Dying Light mixes first-person melee combat with vertical movement in a way most zombie games don’t even attempt. The Platinum Edition on Switch comes with all the DLCs, including The Following, which adds a massive countryside map and a customizable buggy that turns zombies into hood ornaments.

Shortly after the launch of the original Switch, we got the fighting game ARMS, and the Wii U introduced us to Splatoon (Which has become a dependable franchise with two Switch-based sequels). I hope at least one of Nintendo’s studios has been cooking up something fresh for the launch of the Switch 2.
