After weeks of intense training and battling for a spot on the major league team, the official call has finally come for one of Boston's elite prospects.

Kristian Campbell will break camp with the Red Sox, as KPRC 2’s Ari Alexander reports that the star prospect has been told he will be part of Boston’s Opening Day roster. A corresponding move will be made in the coming days to create room for Campbell on the 40-man roster.

With less than a week to go before Opening Day, the murkiness that’s defined the bottom third of the Red Sox roster is becoming clearer. Most notably, Chris Cotillo passed along a couple of quotes from Alex Cora regarding the pitching staff on Saturday that might have revealed more than he intended: What’s interesting about these two quotes is that Cora says there’s “probably” two more spots in the bullpen when so far we’ve only been able to confirm the five guys Cotillo mentioned.
