THURSDAY, Dec. 26, 2024 (HealthDay News) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has escalated the recall of certain eggs sold at Costco to its highest Class 1 alert level due to salmonella contamination risks.

The FDA classified a November recall over potential salmonella contamination for eggs sold at Costco at its highest risk level.

Nearly a month after a five-state recall of eggs sold at Costco, the FDA now says consumption of the recalled eggs could "cause serious adverse health consequences or death."
