Diclofenac sodium 1%; gel. Temporary relief of arthritis pain only in upper body areas (eg, hand, wrist, elbow) or lower body areas (eg, foot, ankle, knee). Use dosing card to apply gel.

Interventions Participants received two successive treatments (10% diclofenac gel or placebo gel) in random order over a 3-day period. There was a 1-week washout period between the treatments.
