A couple of weeks ago I took a pair of Sennheiser HD660 headphones that I had placed in storage out of their box and was disappointed to see that the ear pads were looking a bit worse for wear.
After soaking, wipe the ear cushions and headband thoroughly with a clean cloth to dry. Then, lay the headphones flat to dry for at least a day before you reattach the cushions and use them again.
