Isolation can occur during depressive episodes when you might withdraw from others or even during manic episodes when interpersonal conflicts increase.

Although bipolar disorder affects around 2 per cent of the population, studies suggest that up to 50 per cent of people with the condition attempt suicide at least once, and 15-20 per cent die by suicide – a rate much higher than in the general population. Unlike global suicide rates, suicide deaths in bipolar disorder have not declined.
