China's energy and auto giant BYD has announced a super fast EV charging system that it says is nearly as quick as a fill up at the pumps.

Shares in Chinese EV giant BYD surged to a record high Tuesday after it unveiled new battery technology it says can charge a vehicle in the same time it takes to fill up a petrol car.

The 350Squared plug-and-play power bank requires no trenching and includes AI-powered forecasting with a bi-directional electricity meter, and two ultra-fast charging ports.

BYD on Monday unveiled a new platform for electric vehicles (EVs) that it said could charge EVs as quickly as it takes to pump gas and announced for the first time that it would build a charging network across China.
