Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte is the new chair for both and he has removed several members while adding a few new names at each.

William Pulte, the new director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, is consolidating control over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and questioning employees’ productivity.

The FHFA removed eight members from the board of the Federal National Mortgage Association, known as Fannie Mae. The agency additionally culled six members from the board of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp.

Bill Pulte installed himself as the chair of the boards for both companies as the potential for privatization looms large.
