When most people hear the term “drain tile,” they picture the round or square grate found in many basement slabs ... or concrete (interior systems) covers the pipe and trench.

This Roman drain cover slab was found at Bothwellhaugh Roman Fort, Lanarkshire, Scotland, and was picked by Shauna Joy, second year student at the University of Glasgow (Single Honours Archaeology).
