Beacon Roofing Supply has agreed to be acquired by QXO for about $11 bln. The board unanimously insisted as recently as two weeks ago that the offer significantly undervalued the company.

The agreement between QXO and Hernon, Virginia-based Beacon Roofing Supply, which describes itself as the “largest publicly traded distributor of roofing materials and complementary building products” in the U.S. and Canada, culminates QXO’s months-long pursuit.

It ends a four-month public standoff between the two companies and marks another milestone acquisition in the building materials distribution sector.
