On Facebook, outage reports began increasing around 9:30 a.m. and peaked around 830 reports. As of nearly 11:30 a.m., reports began to rise again after dipping, with almost 2,000 reported on Instagram and 200 on Facebook. Most issues on Facebook, 45%, were reported with the website, followed by 33% with login and 23% with the app.

Facebook and Instagram owner Meta is considering a paid subscription in the UK which would remove adverts from its platforms. Under the plans, people using the social media sites could be asked to pay for an ad-free experience if they do not want their data to be tracked.
