A top-flight Bulgarian soccer team has apologized after it held a minute’s silence before its recent match to mourn a former player who the club mistakenly believed had died.

Bulgarian soccer club Arda Kardzhali had an embarrassing gaffe when it held a moment of silence for a player who was still living and at home with his wife.

FC Arda Kardzhali found themselves in an awkward situation after holding a minute's silence for their former player Petko Ganchev, only to later realize that he was still alive.
